Lisa: āIād really love to see Sam be more proactive in her communication. During sprints, itās almost like sheās MIA - we have no idea what sheās working on at any given time. Of course, we operate with default trust in the team (which Iād never want to change) but this has backfired when deadlines have approached and we realise right to the wire that Samās work has dependencies which havenāt been made aware š¤¦š»āāļøĀ When we do ask for updates, it feels like weāre annoying Sam. Iād really like to see this turned around!ā (direct feedback to YOO)
Sung: āItās one thing to deliver great work, but a big part of being a successful Product Designer is effective communication to create alignment. I donāt see this being a strength of Samās and I have seen it impact the teamās overall delivery.ā (retro feedback)
Dan: āSam, who? š¤·āāļøĀ I feel like I havenāt seen or spoken to Sam in months. Maybe thatās dramatising, but honestly - she sits with the camera off and muted in team socials, doesnāt contribute until sheās explicitly called on in stand-ups, and may as well not even be part of our team Slack channel for the amount she joins in. Considering sheās a Senior, I donāt see her mentoring or upskilling any of the team like Lisa and Sung do.ā (direct feedback to YOO)
Jane: āIād love to be able to learn from Sam more often. She has such fantastic insights and great experience, but sheās the only person in the team I donāt feel very comfortable going to with questions. It feels like most of the time sheād just rather be left alone..ā (retro feedback)
Dalia: āSam and I have worked on a couple of projects together - sheās fantastic technically and I know I could learn a lot from her. Unfortunately on one key project, she didnāt make me aware of a deadline which meant there was a mad scramble to get this over the line.ā (retro feedback)
Matt (VP of Manufacturing): āIād like to have more visibility over the progress of work coming from Sam. Following initial discussions at the top of the project, it can fall into silence until somethingās delivered (or isnāt).ā (feedback given when requested by YOO)
